Astronomy Software
Software such as Stellarium, Starry Night and TheSky, while not neccessary, are very useful for learning astronomy or the night sky. Maybe I shouldn't say not neccessary. I grew up without them, instead using maps and charts like that similar to skymaps.com and before the information age. Having the advantage of computers today, I highly recommend them. Some of these software includes either an astronomy tutorial or info in their user guides about astronomy which includes additional info than what I have presented on this website thus far.
